Spacing Brushes

I made a layout and decided I wanted a trail of sparkles.

I could place the brush one at a time in the shape of a trail or press and hold my brush, then make the shape of the brush. But when I do the latter the sparkles are way to close.
Then I found the spacing option at the bottom of the brushes dialog.

This is an example of the spacing option at different heights.
